The HC Energía Foundation and the Nalón Friendly Fishermen Association collaborate together in the fish restocking of the Nalón River.

This activity will involve, for the first time, the collaboration of the students of the "Rey Aurelio" Public Schools, of the Sotrondio Municipality, located in the council of San Martín del Rey Aurelio. The goal of the intervention is to create an environmental awareness among young people as well as instilling an attitude of respect, improvement and biodiversity protection.

The students will be responsible of releasing 10,000 brown trout fry, which have been bred in the facilities of the Association. In this way, it will conclude with the restocking of this year in the Nalón river and its two tributaries, the Nora river and the Noreña river, releasing a total of 250,000 fishes. This is a record number for the regeneration of the asturian rivers fishes.

The restocking will be done in a not fishing zone, located in the town, this location doesn't presents any risks for the students. After that, members of the Association in the fishing preserve without death of Sotrondio will make the total restocking near the area ther the students were.

The HC Energía Foundation has been working for years with this fish restocking initiative as it seeks to achieve a sustainable development in all the areas where the company conducts its business.

Along with the Nalón Friendly Fishermen Association, the HC Energía Foundation participates in other projects proposed by others such as the Royal River Fishing Asturian Association or the North Atlantic Salmon Fund, with which it has worked to protect the cycle of life of the salmon, with the purchasing of fishing rights in the North Atlantic.
